Year of Tolerance-2019
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, has declared 2019 as the "Year of Tolerance", thus highlighting the UAE as the global capital for tolerance, via its various legislative and policy-oriented goals to enhance the role of the country in instilling the values of co-existence and peace in local, regional and international communities.
Instilling values of tolerance carries on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legacy. It is one of the most important attributes that we can give to our people and the global community to ensure their safety, stability and happiness - H. H. Sheikh Khalifa, President of the UAE made this statement while declaring 2019 as the Year of Tolerance in the UAE.
Year of Giving
UAE president His Highness Shaikh Khalifa has declared 2017 the ‘Year of Giving’ to carry forward the humanitarian legacy of late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Strengthening social responsibility in the private sector.
Strengthen social responsibility in the private sector collecting and reporting data on tax, royalties and other payments to government by each organization, wages and other remuneration paid to locally-hired labor by location of operations, local procurement by value, by location of operations, number of locally-hired employees by gender, skill level and location of operations number of beneficiaries of training and education programs by location of operations, community welfare programs funded by the entity.
Promoting volunteerism and specialized voluntary programs in all segments of society.
Training & Aviation Human Resources Development by providing literacy skills and basic computer training, language training and collaborate with External stakeholders to promote ATCO Nationalization campaign by GCAA employees.
Strengthening the concept of serving the nation among the youth.
- The GCAA events held outside the GCAA premises will start with the recitation of national anthem.
- Full-length feature articles are published about the prominent UAE national aviation personalities.
- Arrange regular visit of schoolchildren to national airlines, airports and internship at GCAA.
Reading Year
President H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared the year 2016, the year of reading in the UAE. The Cabinet instructed the competent authorities to start preparing a national framework that promotes reading among Emirati generations.
Reading Club
An initiative to promote interdepartmental reading and information sharing in the GCAA, each sector has been provided with a shelf for book where employees can share and donate books that they have read, at each end of the month employees gather in a hall where all GCAA employees are invited to discuss the book and its significance.
Book of the Month
Every month, the Corporate Communication Department suggests a book to read and informs the employees along with a question about the book to be answered by the employees. At the end of the year, the employee who correctly answered the most questions throughout the year is awarded during the annual employees gathering 2017
GCAA’s Guest
In each quarter of the year, GCAA invites a famous Arabic/English writer to talk about his/her book. In one of GCAA’s meeting, rooms and all GCAA are able to register for the event.
Innovation
The GCAA innovation initiatives aim to create and manage a rigorous innovation process, to nurture the innovation culture and to bring fourth the creative and innovative spirit from employees in the Aviation sector.
Aeronnovation Award
Aeronnovation is a GCAA sponsored national award designed to assist enhance and Improve passengers experience, by providing innovative services at UAE airports. The Innovation Award is based on the principals that the driving force behind innovation process is people, therefore this scheme will help recognize and provide an opportunity for employees in the aviation sector, in the UAE, to showcase innovations they have designed and implemented that can positively impact passengers experience, safety at work, improve carbon footprint or enhance quality in production and manufacturing.
